The sculptural safari cropped jacket and cargo shorts co-ord is part of Architecture in Linen, our capsule built around Persian girih geometry — the interlocking star-and-polygon patterning found in centuries-old tilework, reworked here as laser-cut fabric. Cropped safari jacket with cutwork storm flaps, over pleated cargo shorts, finished in terracotta rust. The cutwork is precision laser-cut by a specialist craft partner and hand-finished at every edge, so the geometry holds its shape wear after wear rather than fraying at the open edges. This piece is currently a shortlisted design from the collection — we're sharing it ahead of production so you can tell us which pieces to bring to life first.
02The idea
Before the piece, there was a line.
Sculptural Safari Cropped Jacket and Cargo Shorts Co-ord began with proportion — where the piece sits on the body, and how much room it is given to move — settled before any colour or cloth was chosen. At this stage the only questions are line and balance.

From idea to form

05The hand behind the piece
Then, the making begins.
Cut, finished and checked with a specialist craft partner, in a small run. The drawing sets the direction; the hands decide how a seam sits, where an edge is turned, and when a piece is finished.
The sketch becomes proportion.
The cloth becomes form.
The idea becomes a garment.
06Why this fabric?
The cloth, up close.
The two pieces are cut to be worn together or separately. Fitted through the waist with room through the leg or skirt — true to size, with the option to size up in the trouser for a more relaxed drape. This design hasn't gone into production yet, so there's no fit-model note to share; we'll add one once samples exist.
Held at this distance, the weave, the thread colours and the finish are the piece. Exact composition and care are confirmed before the cloth is cut.
Taking care of it
Dry clean recommended to protect the laser-cut edges. If you do hand wash, use cold water and lay flat to dry — do not wring. Cool iron only, and press around the cutwork rather than directly on it so the cut edges keep their shape. Store folded or on a padded hanger; the enzyme-washed finish will soften further with wear.
